What is your Vacation of a Lifetime?

Over the weekend I was spending sometime thinking about and looking into making my dream vacation to Japan happen. I really want to go there because I am inspired by its culture, food and Godzillas favorite city, Tokyo. It would be amazing to get to experience the unique food, awesome cars, electronic marts, bullet trains, temples, and mountain side ocean views.

All of this thinking got me really excited and motivated to start planning and saving for it. Even if I don't get to make it there for many years to come it still is wonderful to think about. So I ask you now, what is your vacation destination of a lifetime and why?

My vacation of a lifetime is still Hawaii - I lived there and have been back many times, but never tire of making the trip.

Scratch Nebraska and Ohio unless you have a very specific reason for going... add Colorado and maybe Louisiana for New Orleans (mardis gras anyone?!)

Other than that... sounds awesome! As someone who live in Texas, has been to California, New York, Chicago, New Orleans, Florida and Las Vegas, I can safely say all of those destinations are worth the trip!

I would love to go to Japan and eat nothing but ramen. It's impossible to find good ramen in Dallas.

I've always wanted to travel Europe and visit the exquisite old churches, bridges, and buildings that have so much history. I'd surely want to pass by places like London, Paris, Frankfurt, and probably go through countries like Greece and Italy too

In August 2008 I joined The Amazing Randi and about 98 other people involved with the James Randi Educational Foundation on a 7 day cruise of the Galapagos Islands. It was 100% reality based, and certainly the best vacation trip I've ever had.

Maui is great too. And I enjoyed visiting Tokyo. I've been to the UK and Ireland also.

Definitely Japan, there's something addicting about their culture. Everytime I watch the movie, Lost in Translation, makes me want to go there.

I would say Alaska in the summertime because winter would be too cold, but in the summer where it's ALWAYS light outside would be really nice. I love mountains and cold weather, so it'd be perfect. And I would die to see the Northern Lights!!

I'd start off in China and visit the Shaolin Temple (I've been a student of chinese martial arts since I was very young), and to visit some friends living in the mainland.

Then head over to Tibet for some soul searching (I'm a Buddhist).

From there, I'd probably head to India, then east through all the smaller asian countries (I've always wanted to go to Thailand and Vietnam), then work my way north up the coast to Japan.

If I had the time, I'd then visit Russia (always wanted to see Moscow).

Save Ohio for the summertime... Cedar Point and Kings Island.

Lol. Bora Bora would be similar to living in a fantasy. The ocean view, and the bungalows on the water are nothing short of AMAZING. It's so beautiful. That's definitely my top pick for my honey moon. If I could work from there I would do it in a heart beat.

I was lucky enough to get to go to both of these places when I was younger. It was an amazing trip. The Parthenon, Sistine Chapel, and Colosseum blew me away!

I love traveling, so I can't settle on one dream location... I've been all around South America, but I'd love to strap a backpack and have enough time to travel Central and South America in one go, same thing for India and SE Asia (though I've never been there). Right now I'm planning to do Italy-Greece by the end of this year.

I hope none of you guys wanting to go to Japan are there right now. What's happened over there is scary stuff.

I'd like to go to England, Ireland, Scotland. Also would like to go to France and walk around the trenches from WWI. Im fascinated by WWI trench warfare, especially the Western Front.

Honeymoon in Egypt - Luxor, was absolutely brialliant. Just the right mixture of culture to keep the brain happy and an almost intolerable but enjoyable heat.

Glad I went about a year go though...
