    Looking for BIG VPS..Need Assistance

    Hi WHT users,
I am looking for VPS/Cloud server with following requirements

    1GB or 2GB RAM
    500GB HDD/Usable Disk Space
    1TB Bandwidth (enough)
    cpanel/whm
    Daily Backups
    2 IP (Min)
    Fully Managed
    Virtuozzo Console
    Budget - Upto $160/m

Where can I get this kind of server ?
AIM is to provide private file storage service where there wont be much use of RAM but actual disk space / HDD is main factor.

That doesn't look that "big" to me except the disk space. If VZ is a strict requirement, then that makes it even a bit easier as a number of providers will offer some ridiculous amount of disk space hoping you'll never use it, as openvz can oversell disk. Certainly the budget looks reasonable for what you're looking for.

I'm going to also advocate that you look at a Dedicated server, rather than a Virtualized platform. That or look into a Cloud (which may be better for you than even a Dedicated would be). That's a pretty substantial size HD allocation to be using.

160 dollars is going to buy you a dedicated server with 10TB bandwidth, 2 TB diskspace and much more. VPS systems do not offer much harddisk space so a dedicated is probably cheaper.

Problem with dedi-server is if HDD goes down, it will be a big trouble for me. RAID-10 with 4 HDD goes out of my budget.

Many providers dont provide ATOM or Core2duo with 4HDDs and RAID-10. It is available with xeons and i5,i7.

I got nothing to do with processor, atom or core2duo is enough.
In case of VPS, GOOD providers provide daily backup solutions and managed support.

Colocating server in our city is costly. Because bandwidth is costly.

Guys, do you know any provider who can provide RAID-10 4HDDs with 1 o 2 GB ram and off-course managed service ?

What about going with a low end Core2Quad server? Many places will be able to put in 4x250GB drives in a RAID 10 configuration and you'll have a lot more bandwidth/memory than what you originally wanted without having to worry about competing for resources. Even with cPanel, you should come in right under your budget figure depending on the provider.

Does it have to be a Virtuozzo VPS? If just the console is important, any VPS provider would be able to offer you this. Your budget seems reasonable. Does it have to be in the US or in EU?

    It should be in US.

Solo 450, thats what I am talking about. A whole server is virtualized.
But it is stretching my budget.

that would be possible ask for custom quote from hosting providers though a dedi could be much better though.

Real price $159 if you use software raid rather than a raid controller, so a little better than you posted in those regards.

    backups at $1.50 / gb / mo

    Cpanel add $19

    "Managed - General Services" $69 / mo

Total cost $228.00 plus backup space at $1.50 per gb. For the OP's requirements and budget, it doesn't match.

    troboy -

As others already advised that, you may definitely look for a Dedicated except than a VPS for many reasons.

You will need RAID-10 disk space but logically the one who can provide you with that amount of disk space on a RAID-10 configuration as a -Virtual- server will for sure provide such services for others too so you cannot expect to have the I/O performance for your requirements since it has been shared with others that will use their VPS for similar purposes.

As a dedicated server with dual core CPU and low amount of ram but with RAID-10 I'm sure there are perfect providers out there who can assist you with such configuration and my personal recommendation for a reliable US host will be HandyNetworks LLC.

Contact Mike at HandyNetworks dot Com and ask him for a custom quote with your requirements, you will be surprised

Also recommend going for a dedicated server.

You would be much better off with a dedicated server, contact the guys at HostDime, I have a x3440 setup which is better specs then you provided and its in your price range. Don't be fooled by advertised prices, they are really willing to work with new clients.

Its unmanaged where as I need Managed service.
On Singlehop, it would be very costly to backup 500GB externally.

I recommend a dedicated in your case, however you may want to look at "hybrid servers" from a company like KnownHost.

    Good dedicated companies are:
    InetU for enterprise grade servers/service
Peer1 for premium managed servers (they used to host youtube)

Softlayer for very good dedicated pricing and they have a good track record
Serverbeach for the same reason above.

Knownhost also has dedicated as well.

and OP--->you can also run really good backup software on the server if you really want to pinch pennies.
    Something awesome
    coming soon....
