You'll need to install the MSSQL plugin for PHP.

You also need to update your connect lines to include the port

Converting databases is NOT as easy as it sounds.

Tell me about it KP. So here is what I have done and am going to be doing: forwarding via 301 redirect to a site that has a similar domain name that I put on the shared server that works with the original site be4 the move. I will port over the vps site back to the shared (with the correct url) tonight or tomorrow and than will get somebody who actually knows how to configure the site for the VPS to set it up properly and than redirect it back to the new server.

Question is will this 301 affect my SEO since I am on a different url now?

For temp redirect, use 302, not 301.

KP are you sure this wont screw up my rankings? As 301 has and I am switching now once the crawlers see this will they re-rank me?
