Quick Help please - A reliable seattle based webhost
I am currently working with a local company and am in search of a good reliable seattle based company. I want the servers located in Seattle more then the company.
They need to offer either shared hosting with my own ips or vps.
I have been googling for a while and everything i have found is less then compelling, any help would be very much appreciated.

May I ask why you want the servers located in Seattle?

I haven't seen an web host who offers hosting plans in Seattle yet but there are probably a few. You should definitely find an vps provider in Seattle.
If you are looking for small vps take a look at lowendbox.com, you can even sort provider by their location there.

Try to look for SoftLayer based hosts as they have datacenters in Seattle. For shared hosting, I know HawkHost has servers in Seattle.

We are actually not in the HE DC. We have space inside the Westin building.

Thanks guys, looking into softlayer - was hoping to avoid dedicated servers but maybe wise after talking to client.
The reason i want Seattle is i want a Seattle ip. Google does indeed look at your server ip as well other factors when ranking a domain, or so i heard this is my attempt to find out if a local ip really does help.

Hostingfuze and VPSfuze might have VPS in Seattle if I remember. Possibly Jboost too.
Good luck.

To be honest with you, the IP address really does not have much significance in the ranking of your website. Its sometimes better to have a dedicated IP address then a shared IP address as this lowers the possibility of your website being delisted for someone elses actions (ex: someone directory spamming can get everyone associated with that particular IP address removed from google).
If SEO is your concern, I would focus more on finding a reliable web host, with relatively fast connections. Google will knock you down in the rankings if your website loads slow.

Thanks guys, i am going to just be grabbing a dedicated server i think.
While yes i know the Ins and Outs of SEO fairly well, been in the web development world for over 6 years. This is a theory i have heard before, there was no thought besides using a dedicated ip, shared hosting was out of the question. 20 + sites all using the ip is a slaughter to you and your rankings.
