    Unhappy which one you recommend after wiredtree?

    i am posting here with pains. I stayed quite long with WiredTree but now a days I am getting fade up due to their reluctant attitude.

    In the last weak, 2 of our sites compromised and was defaced! when I wanted to get backup from CDP (as on site backup was 2 days old), I could not login. when I contacted support, they give a good news that no backup is available as their CDP was failed since about a week!

    so i lost 2 days data and restored from in server backup.

    but after that till now they failed to provide a solution. the CDP is not up yet. It is about 40+ days! even they do not proactively handles the ticket. when I reply in the ticket, they apology and again they lost!

    I tried to get attention of Joe and I was cool by his promise but that did not make any differences!

    though there are always little chat-chat, but i was very happy with them. however, their current actions seems they are not as they were before !

    though it is tough for me to migrate immediately, but I am slowly taking that decision! I think, this time I should go somewhere else who will really care about services!

    what I am looking for:
    1. VPS (or hybrid vps) around 100GB space
    2. Fully and proactively managed cPanel hosting. Very fast support response. 5-25 mins response time
    3. about 2GB (not less than 1.5GB) RAM + fair enough CPU from multiple cores
    4. 99.9% or 100% uptime (and no frequent schedule maintenance that I faced earlier in a few companies)

    Do you have any recommendations for such requirements? I will highly appreciate your suggestions. Even if they do not fix it up quickly, I will migrate slowly after doing some research as it is not comfortable for me to move all these sites, update ns and blah blah blah!

    So, if I get a few suggestions, I can study myself to decide about one.

    Thanks in advance

    dear,
    why do you think a dedicated box can't be compromised? however, they also provide VPS

    @WickedFactor, @WickedFactor
    Noted them in my list. thanks

    @Deroba

    if you anyone has to input a few more lines about the company you recommend, it will be helpful!

    I will want to get frequent offsite backup solution too.

    I was with WT too and it is unfortunate how they went from being a top-notch provider to an unreliable host.

    I also moved out but I went to SolarVPS.com. They are fine but I can tell you right now: you will never find same support as WT had in their prime

    Wish you all the best.

    That's always good to have, but in the end it is up to you to maintain secure backups of your data, don't completely rely on the host.

    VPSLatch offers a pretty fantastic managed setup with CDPBackups included

    Backups require you asking them to do a restores but other than that I know Adam has some fairly massive CDP deployments.

    But doesn't their prices seems too good to believe

    @humawebdesign
    So far I remember, I had tried their vps sometime in 2010! but for some reason, I exited them! (can't remember now why)!

    Thanks all for comments! I am expecting some more inputs!

    They do a good job with what they offer and get many strong praises They aren't perfect at times but no one is. They've recently been working to improve their support even more so as well as improving node performance.

    hi,
    anyone has experience with JaguarPC? they provide 100% network uptime SLA! and their CDP is price seems affordable.

    Anyone has any experience about them please share.

    Thanks

    I would not take backup from my host. I have recently moved to tarsnap.com and in my view they are the best. Used bqbackup with rdiff-backup and they were great too.

    +1 for Knownhost and Servint. I had great experiences with both.

    I've been on JaguarPC for a few months, now. I did have a little dust-up with them over service the other day but, for the most part, they have been solid.

    SolarVPS was pretty good to me as well.

    I agree that while most reputable hosts include backups you can never have enough backup data if you rely on your site financially.

    KH does 48 hour "full VPS" backups, 4-5 iterations... although not technically guaranteed. But we have had no problem having a VPS restored with them. If you will have multiple accounts on the VPS, however, and want them backed up individually you will want a separate solution, ala bqbackup or similar.

    By the way, i go to wiredtree and are very happy, solarvps was a mess for me for using one special coupon.

    I suggest too servint or knownhost.
