    Client can not access PHPMyAdmin from cPanel

    I have a client who can use SSH/SFTP and log in to cPanel but she is asked to login again when she attempts to access PHPMyAdmin from her cPanel. When she supplies her same credentials PHPMyAdmin rejects them.

    I can use PHPMyAdmin when logged in to a different account as a user with the same privileges, and as expected I

    I have upgraded her to a normal shell from jail shell, and I have restarted cPanel.

    Is there something else I can do?

    Solved!

    There is an arcane option in cPanel that can be used such that account owners must supply this special password to use PHPMyAdmin.

    I set a new one for my client and it is all good.

    I have been through from this issue.
    I change your clients passwords with clicking on "Synchronize" option.

    I have faced same problem. In bluehost when you enter in PHPMyAdmin section it again ask username and password. The point have to remember here is that username will be your database name not cpanel username while password will be same in both case. My problem has been shoot out when I followed above mentioned steps. Hope it will work for you as well.

    * solution:

    The reason this happens is that your passwords are not synchronized, just reset your password and it will be synchronized.
    This can be done either in WHM or cPanel

    Just had this issue and nguylb73's solution fixed it for me. Thanks!

    Just posted for the first time since like 2002 to confirm this solution for others, as it's a real annoying "bug" :-)

    Just an update. Had the exact same issue happen with a different account today, and doing a user/account password reset didn't fix it for some reason.

    But srider's technique via the link he posted earlier in this thread did :-)

    Sorry for the bumps, just know how frustrating this is and want others to be able to fix.

    Glad to know that your issue has been resolved. Also if this is a shared hosting server, you should not offer normal shell access to any account.
