Question

Is this some paypal scam?

Hello friends,
I am in trouble with paypal i recently withdrew some money to my bank account through paypal bank transfer as i saw they have again resumed their bank transfer for Indian citizens but on 1st Feb i saw in my paypal accnt that transaction is complete but when i checked my bank statement and called my bank they say that no fund is received in my account this month so i just mailed paypal waiting for their reply

but my query is if this happens to me it can happen to anybody and how can one trust pay pal as so many of us depend on payapl for online transactions

How long have you been waiting on the transfer? They can take 3-5 days.

You will need to wait at least 10 working days before PayPal will investigate. That would be 15 February.

I swore I transferred money out of my paypal one time, and it never showed up, and I could not find a record of it anywhere. I called paypal, and they said no transfer had ever been initiated. I had to manually go through and figure out my account balanced from a previous time when I had record. They were right no transfer, but for the life of me I swear I initiated it. Maybe Paypal has a bug somewhere in their system?

I don't use paypal much anymore unless I have to. With no registry like system showing new balance after each transaction, I just feel their is not enough accountability.

This is the reply i got from paypal so i have to contact my bank

Dearxxxxxxx,

Hello, xxxxxxx. My name is Rhodora from PayPal Customer Service.

I understand your inquiry about the withdrawal transaction on your
PayPal account.

I personally checked your account, and see that you were able to
transfer the funds to your bank on Feb. 01, 2011 for Rs.xxxxxxx INR
($xxxxx USD). I assure you that the said transaction was already
completed on the account and we have not received any information yet as
of this time from the bank about the cause of delays from their end.

Withdrawal transactions also known as electronic transfers to your bank
account usually take 5-7 business days to process. Holidays and weekends
are not recognized as business days for most banking facilities, which
may result in a delay in your banking transactions.

The status of your withdrawal is 'Completed', which means it has
completed through the PayPal system. Please note:

1. PayPal has no control over the length of time it takes your bank to
post their credits, and we do not receive confirmation when your credit
has been received by your bank.

2. Usually, if there is a problem with the transfer completing, it is
rejected back to PayPal and the funds are reversed back into the PayPal
account.

3. At this time, this transaction has not been rejected back to us.
Therefore, we suggest that you contact your bank and ask to speak with
someone who works with Electronic Funds Transfers. This Department
should be able to verify that your deposit was received.

4. If you are unable to locate the deposit at your bank, and the status
of the transaction is still listed as completed, we can initiate a trace
on these funds once 14 business days have passed. In this case, please
contact us and our Customer Service will provide all the information to
initiate the trace procedure.

We hope you understand our situation and thank you for your patience.
We’re available to answer any questions you might have. Thank you for
choosing PayPal for your online payment needs.

It sounds like your inquiry was just a few hours premature. :] Glad to hear that the funds soon appeared!
