How much bandwidth needed for 50k UVs per day!

    Hi,
I have server with 6000GB bandwidth and 2 websites with almost 50K UVs, one is a wordpress blog and the other is a phpmovie script with user database. I want to create 3 cPanel accounts and want to assign bandwidth to these accounts. What minimum bandwidth is needed for my high traffic sites.
    Thanks!

the way you calculate is like this.

    example:- 50Kbytes per page , total page views a day = 1000

(total page views = all visitors x average page view per each visitor)

    total per day 1000x50Kbyte = 50Mbyte
    per month = 30x50 = 1500Mbyte transfer

you should be able to find what you can expect based on this

Thanks for the method, so database n uploading stuff doesnt count in bandwidth? its only traffic to the size of the page which contributes more towards bandwidth.

    Thanks again!

Everything between external IP and your server IP is a bandwidth. Check your host policies they should have clear explanation how they count bandwidth if they are not unmetered.

You mentioned "phpmovie script" do that mean you will be serving video? If so, then you need to figure out your average video size and average number of video views per month.

Anything involving video = lots of bandwidth. Porn sites use hundreds of thousands of GB's per month. Probably more like millions to tens of millions of GB's.

You just need to do some simple math, install the script, generate a page view, monitor the bandwidth usage, finally multiply that bandwidth usage by the total number of page views...

Without knowing them figures, any numbers here are just total guess work.

I am not hosting any video, my site provides links to other sites, average page size on my site is arround 140-170 kb.

so as per the calculations, bandwidth = size x views

    assumption : 5000000 x 150KB x 1024 = 768000000000 = 732.642 GB approx.

as per this 6000GB is good bandwidth.
