    If you're using cpanel/exim, here's a start --

    The first rule should be:
    iptables -I OUTPUT -p tcp --sport 25 -j DROP
but it would be better to check logs and determine the source of the spam.

    hi

instead of iptables, you can stop the SMTP service and then review the logs to see the source. if you are using cpanel/exim, pmwebster provided excellent link to reconfigure exim. If it is plain installation, depending upon the MTA you use, there can be different ways to stop spams coming, but if the spam is going out from your server, then check for relay and check the website if it has any script which is vulnerable to send out emails without proper data validation.
