Enable GD in PHP
Hi,
I currently have CentOS 5.5 x64 installed on my server. I'm running PHP 5.2.9 with WHM. I have installed and configured xCache myself.
Now I need to enable GD support for my PHP installation but I don't know how to do it. Also I have a question, do it will require to recompile PHP? If so, if I recompile PHP am I going to need to reinstall xCache?
Thank you,
Jonathan

You can use easyapache to recompile php in cpanel server. Enable GD during the easyapache configuration.

Yep, you'll most likely need to re-install xCache.

Yes.
I would prefer to do it through command line instead of using PHP.
Do I simply need to recompile PHP right? Or do I will need to recompile both PHP and Apache?
How I can upgrade my current PHP 5.2.9 installation to support GD without breaking my current XCache installation?
Thank you,
Jonathan

If I'm using WHM, how I can enable GD in my PHP installation from the command line without recompiling Apache nor PHP? Is that possible?

No, you cannot install GD module without recompiling Apache/PHP on a cPanel server. You can either use
/scripts/easyapache

If you are not familiar with doing easy apache from backend then its good to do it from the WHM after enabling the required modules.
