Hi,
I bought a Reseller Package from Visual Depth but when I descovered they didn't have their own servers as they told me I requested a refund. After 2 weeks of being told there was problems with their credit card system, they just disappeared; I couldn't reach them by phone, email, or over the chat system on their web site. It is now 6 weeks since I last heard from them.
I was wondering if anyone could advise me on this.
Thanks,
David

If you get no answer from them, phone your credit card company and ask for a chargeback.

Hi,
I emailed their payment gateway 'Devil Net' and they said they would phone me back, but never did.
Is it possible to get a charge back on a Debit Card?

Debit Card - No. You have a problem!! Never use a debit card for services to be delivered. You give up most if not all of your rights!!

Once I was charged for something I haven't bought and asked for chargeback. After about 4 months my bank gave me refund . It was a debit card.
It was like 3 years ago.

Thanks, I'll phone the bank tomorrow and explain the situation. As I can't get hold of Visual Depth and they seem to have disappeared from the Earth. I recommend everyone stays away from them.
Thanks for all your help,
David

Always think of a debt card as a plastic check.
If you wrote a check for something you never got you wouldn't expect your bank to give the money back.

Unless you can demonstrate fraud, then I would doubt it. Of course this will depend on the bank. Some banks are more likely to eat some cost to have a satisfied customer.

most banks debit cards will give you 3 months to do a charge back. I know this because I had to do it and that was the time limit they put on me. I always ask now before using a debit card to make sure first.

Yes, my debit card does afford some protection, but you should make sure with your bank (limitations and rights, etc.).

i`m not sure about US laws, but here in UK a debit card is equivalent to cash. I used to work for a bank.
What you must do is retain a receipt for the purchase, then you still have your normal consumer rights. That is, if the product is not suitable for the purpose for which it ws purchased then a full or partial refund must be given. If this does not happen then you can go to court to obtain a refund.
Dunno bout US though.
