PHP Variable Crash, serious bug - PHP 4 and 5x on Intel

This looks serious, if you assign a variable a certain value PHP just crashes.

the simple workaround given here:
http://www.aircraft24.com/en/info/ph...s-quickfix.htm
may be enough until a patch is applied or upgrade etc..

This only applies to 32 bit Intel systems and is not really the fault of PHP but due to the fact the FPU has a specific issue with that number and it never rounds to enough precision so PHP is never satisfied and just crashes. The reason 64bit systems work fine is that the FPU is fixed and can handle this number properly. Some also claim it is a problem with the compiler gcc but this is up for debate and in any case gcc say it is not their problem and it will not be fixed.
