Hi,

What's the best software to run under CentOS as a streaming server(Audio/Video)?
And what hosting company you recommend for this? I want to get a single server.

Please, share your experience.

Are you wanting to stream live content (i.e. from a video camera as it happens) or just have content that is able to be streamed (i.e. instead of having to be downloaded fully before it can start playing).?

As far as I know, formats such as FLV and WMV can be streamed as-is without a special server to handle it. It's just a format that as it's downloaded can be played. You could even do this on shared hosting.

Just modify the link so that it will work (i.e. www dot domain dot com)... As long as you're not posting spam I don't think the moderation team is going to have an issue with it.

I see... So you essentially just want to stream music to yourself across the internet?

If you know similar projects you can invistigate what they are using for that and use that for yourself.
