new KnowHost customer - anything I should know ?

Hello .. now here is a place I can bicth about my bad experiences with my old hosting companies : webhostingpad and hostgator ..

a have about 8 websites, but only one has a lot of visitors .. in the last year I lost about half of the visitors and yesterday surprise ! .. i found all my websites down with no notification, nothing .

They said I was using too much resources .. when I asked for more details, I got nothing back ... I was interested were the the problem was .. as I had half the people I had last year .. so what was this ? I'm not a good client anymore I think ..

So I will try KnowHost as people here seem to be very happy with that, and I will choose a VS2 solution .

Anybody using a VS2 solution from them ? how is it working ?

thanks a lot !

Sorry for going offtopic a bit, but which script(s) are you running on the website that gets lots of visitors?

It might be the script causing high server load, thus leading to suspension. Nevertheless, the host should be able to provide you with details.

Goodluck with your new host!

well It's a very simple script that takes from mysql simple texts ..
I thought the same thing .. maybe it's this, maybe it't that ..
but instead of an answer I got this : upgrade or move .

so I will listen to them like a good client that I am and I will move .

Alright, I'd still ask them for details though, because the last thing you want is that the same thing happens on your next host.

Once again, goodluck with your new host!

THIS IS 5 MINUTES OLD ! ))

webhostingpad told me, you need to upgrade to VPS .. they also gave me a link to /vps to see the vps offers and SURPRISE :
"Until further notice, we will not be offering VPS hosting services. If you need a backup of your site, please email support@webhostingpad.com"

how stupid is that ? )

so I guess they are going DOWN .... I hope so anyway )

AudaHosting-Jesse : I would love some straight answers from them .. I really would ..

70.000 MB monthly - about .. can be a lot less .
800 MB hosted ... but I think I also have a fullback-up around ..
no more then 3000 unique visitors per day, maybe 30.000 unique connection per day to mysql..

this should stand on a solo hosting account with no problem .. but it doesn't .. what if I had a website with 10 times that much .. anyway ..

this was about how does a VS2 KnowHost solution

KnowHost has only (?) positive reviews as far as I know.

This thread reviews their VS2 package.

watch out for HostGators strict CPU usage policies!

And yes I've heard some nice things about KnownHost. Stay with them and let us know what you think as well .

Good luck with KnowHost, tell us how it turns out. However if you are using too many resources for these other two hosts, couldn't the same thing happen there? You might have to upgrade to a VPS eventually.

You can't go wrong with a vps. You know your resources and they're pretty cheap and sometimes cheaper than some shared hosts.
