Review on XeSupport

Hi folks.

Its my first post on this account. I thought if I'm going to post a review, there's no need to hide behind an alias.

And I'm writing on this just 2 hours into Xmas local time! So this is genuine stuff. Have no time wasting specially over Xmas eve/Xmas writing this if ain't real. And normally I dun bother with stuff like reviews. I'm too lazy.

This is honest but positive review of XeSupport. here's a link to their recent post - www . webhostingtalk . com /showthread.php?t=1002099 (apparently I cannot post a link if I'm under 5 posts!)

Backdrop
I run a small web solutions company and recently decide to upgrade to decent VPS from a reseller plan to offer better value-add to my clients.

Needs
I'm a business consultant, not a techie... And I know my limits. At best, I'm just a savvy user. Not an admin. Therefore I was looking out for a Server Admin solution that can help me, not to create another black hole for my time.

I researched and contacted quite a few of those found on this forum. While all responded to me in a prompt manner (which does instill confidence!), I decided to go with XeSupport after some communications.

Signup
I have read some reviews of them (one of which was borderline negative) but I decided to give them a try as they seem to best serve my needs. No limitations on this can't or that cost more etc(within reasons of course), even they do cost more. And hosting is a cost center to me at this point so every penny saved is good!

First Impressions
the first 2 days was so of marred by earlier miscommunications during pre-sales. I would say there was no one at fault.I had been under the impression the brand new VSP would be setup, configured and ready to go within 24hrs. I probably interpreted it wrongly and assumed everything will be done in 24hrs when it actually took longer. The fact they're currently somewhat short handed due to the festive season definitely does not help (but they come through on time for me)

Naturally being an anxious customer (i'm also human!) and under an extremely tight deadline (I have a client's website that needs moving before Xmas day given the old webhost is cutting their service! One of my most valuable in fact with numerous referral sales! So there is a real sense of urgency.

Setup of VPS
After some internal escalation to explain the urgency and with replies the setup would take longer (I misinterpreted the lead-time), Michael Adelman and Sean Frank (CEO) from XeSupport helped me escalated the situation and managed to install, setup, configure and harden my VPS on time. Thanks Guys!

Moving of 1 client Site
I need help moving a large client's site (almost 500mb) and XeSupport had said they can help with me that during pre-sale.
The fact that its was pure manual work, working with ftp and phpmyadmin does not help. There was no control panel to speak of.

I volunteered to do the ftp part given I am located much near to the old webhost and current VPS.

The site move was just great and fast. That was about 16 hours ago. XeSupport help me moved the site promptly and I thought it was over.

Problems
Almost immediately after the move, the client and myself notice certain issues with Google Apps. the client use Google Apps for their email infrastructure. While the site is working, Google Apps email was not(thankfully we did it over a festive holiday period).

Again I escalated it to XeSupport to look into it. After quite a lot of exchanges and updates, its just been resolved 2 hours ago. Apparently it was a MX setting issue. May even be my own doing!

Conclusion
While it could possibly be a result of the rushed setup, it was still resolved properly. And I would say since I've signed up, there is a good 40-50 emails both ways. just about all of which have been very promptly responded to.

Ultimately, factoring every argument, what's most important is coming through and deliver. by WHT standards I'm probably quite an old bloke (past mid-30's) and was in the military for a few years. I would think I've seen my fair share of life.

XeSupport did that, no inflated sales pitch, no BS honest communications, no spit remarks, always friendly, and delivering on their service to me. Considering its Xmas eve, being short handed and they are still working their ass off says to help solve issues is everything.

Some may arrange their tech knowledge could be better. Sure. But let's factor it festive period and they are short-handed. Speaking from experience and the fact they are offering a business solution, I very much rather go for commitment than boasted skills sets!

I went from a new client looking for a excuse to cut the service to loyal client whom will now need a damn good reason to stop using your service. XeSupport sells a business service solution. You have delivered on it. Now I think I can safely focus my time more productivity on my business and leave the admin stuff to you.

Thanks Guys from XeSupport for coming thru, especially Michael Adelman, Sean Frank and William Lu. I would have sent a card but I doubt it'll reach you in time! So I thought maybe a review would work!?!

Happy festive everyone.

cheers!

Correction.

Actually to be more accurate, I've sign up for about only 4 days. Kudos to XeSupport for getting me up and running in a short window.

Does feels longer give all that is going on.
