SSL certificate for foreign site

Hi

My website is located on a server in south korea, as my audience is korean and website is in korean.

I'm looking to purchase a SSL certificate from godaddy.com. Will the certificate work on foreign sites? or do foreign sites have their own requirements and SSL certificates?

All SSL certificates work the same way regardless of the country?

SSL has nothing to do with the country. It does however have much to do with the server itself -- Apache, IIS etc. When you generate the CSR & certificate, be sure to do it for the correct web server or you will have problems.

I wouldn't buy from Godaddy though. Not a fan.

Thanks for your reply. As far as i'm aware, godaddy's standard certificate works on mobile browsers. I'm not sure that other certifcates do for similar pricing $12/yr.

Im curious of the SSL export agreements.

Im not hip to the industry but I believe there are some issues regarding encryption outside to some countries.

Perhaps someone that knows more about this has some help if it could present a problem.

South Korea is not included into list so OP is safe and could buy SSL from any provider.

SSL will work no matter from Your customer is. I would buy SSL from independent provider instead.
