Would you prefer the first free month or a free domain?
Hello,
I wanted to ask potential buyers of reseller hosting accounts to see what would entice you more to sign on a new host?
1. The first month free?
or
2. A free domain?
Thank you for your input.

For me, I'd prefer the First Month Free, because I then wouldn't have to worry about the host not going by their Money Back Guarantee i.e. some hosts claim that they offer a Money Back Guarantee, but when you say you aren't happy with the service and try to ask for a refund, the host will say that you didn't cancel in time or you break their Terms of Service or something like that.
You wouldn't have to worry about any of that with the First Month Free offer.
As for domains, I wouldn't register a domain with a NEW host, due to a lot of them registering the domains in their own name, or not letting you keep the domain, etc. It's different if someone recommends the host to you though.

Of course, "first 3 months free" will "SOUND" more attractive.
How much is a domain registration? between $10 $15. If the (reseller) customer remains with you the maximum he will remain will be 2-3yrs because he will have to upgrade to VPS and higher. That will be eqaul to $30-$45.
Whereby if you promote 3 months free, what if he cancels after 3 months? He has paid $10 for domain registration, and you have lost the minimum of $21(based on the your minimum plan offered in JixHost.com).

I think that because some/a lot of people like to register their domain separately from their web host, this offer won't apply to these people.
Offering a month free, or half off for 2 months, or lifetime discount will apply to everyone, so this may have better performance.
Why don't you try both and see which one works better?

I agree with hostgenie on this one. most people register there domains with godaddy and then seek reliable hosting elsewhere. So a free domain wouldnt mean much.

I'd personaly prefer the first month free
as the domain offer can still be tied to the host so if the customer leaves they cannot take the domain

1. Free domain. Never. I would never buy a hosting plan just for a free domain.
2. Free for first month. Very attractive. Just make sure that your support staff makes a real effort to help the client to set up his website. Once the website is running properly, the client is very likely to stay. I have seen one host which simply bills from the second month onwards.
3. Of course, if the support and service is nothing to write home about, then no amount of freebies would make a difference.

Reseller Hosts & Independent eNom Reseller Acc. and Billing System
Howdy everyone
Are reseller hosts obliged to have eNom and billing system account attached to their hosting providers?
Isn't it possible for one to own his owned WHMCS license and eNom reseller account, so that he can take them with him wherever he goes and whenever he upgrades?
Please share with us your experience and recommendations
Thank you and have nice time(s) ahead.

First month free is by far the best.... many people do not like to keep the host and registrar the same

Take the months because it could be more of a hassle trying to transfer the domain if you choose another provider.
