Also take a look at IntoVPS. They're the best unmanaged provider I've used so far.

You're not going to find that much resources with cPanel included.

cPanel is anywhere from $9 - $15/m alone

Well, I would recommend you raise your budget and go for the VPS Medium plan + cPanel and choose the Romania location (next to Greece) for lower latency = less buffering, etc. for your main Listeners in Greece.

IntoVPS have realistic packages/prices.

Remember the saying "you get what you pay for" and "if it's too good to be true, it probably is".

You may also want to consider Cloud VPS Hosting for better performance/uptime, etc. It really depends on your budget.

Good luck.

BurstNET is a great provider for the price! I would definitely suggest you go with them if you already haven't found another provider.

I have and have had many services with Burst and can say every time I've ever had an issue or question, it was taken care of quickly and professionally.

How many listeners do you currently have? Each hour of 128kbps streaming is going to consume about 60mb of bandwidth per listener. Do you really need all that bandwidth? By the way 128kpbs is pretty high for shoutcast.

I think 128kbps is good, anything lower and you can get bad tinnitus, heh.

But then anything higher than 128kbps can be just a waste of bandwidth! 320kbps is way over the top. I would go no higher than 160kbps.

well i guess i will have about ... 200-300 listeners

60*300 = 18GB 1 hour streaming to 300 users

Burst is pretty good for Shoutcast. Have a client who has two servers there and not a complaint about it.

I'd worry about throughput more than usage, I look after an Icecast server for a gaming media group who stream at 128kbps and we had no end of troubles on VPS, even on some packages you wouldn't expect (higher price). Eventually we were forced to move to a dedi despite constant claims from providers that they could handle and were fine with the port usage.

Obviously your mileage will vary depending on the providers you pick, and your usage is also quite a bit lower than ours (we peaked at about 1000 concurrent at the time we were having troubles, which is of course well over 100mbps - but only for 2hour periods at preset times of the week - also, we had providers tell us upfront they could handle this, it's not like we didn't ask, heh.

Also, consider Icecast if you don't need to be in the official directory. It's an argued point, but I've found it to run a lot better than the Shoutcast server in low resource environments.
