LogicIdea/TheCubeHost

LogicIdea is a TERRIBLE host please DO NOT go with them unless you want a site the is CONSTANTLY crippled and dozens of tickets with support that seems to be unsure of what they are doing.

My CPanel didn't work, and once they got that working, my files hadn't been transfered to the new server properly. All my addon on domains had turned into parked domains and i had to recreate everything (subdomains, directories for the addons, redirections, ftp accounts). I could have cried I was so frustrated, I stayed up all night fixing that alone. After they fixed that, my ftp didn't work (wasn't uploading files to new server). The Cpanel clearly had the server I was on, and they argued with me that I was wrong. It was just a MESS that resulted in a week of downtime. Now my stylesheets aren't working. More downtime. I have a resume site posted up and I'm wondering if potential employers say the 404s then raw html sites (no css styling) and that's why I haven't received any call backs. I know these people have no CLUE as to what they are doing.

Ever since whomever (Andre?) owned TheCubeHost sold this company to these people, I've had NOTHING but problems. I felt so lucky: 2GB for $30/yr, after a few bumps transferring from my previous host I had ZERO problems and ZERO downtime. I'm so PO'd at him because he assured me that nothing like this would happen when we exchange pre-sales emails, and after 10months of being with TCH, this happens. Thanks TCH for selling out your customers! I can't say I'm suprised because, judging from his FB page, he was still in high school *sigh* He has just dropped from the face of the earth. he sends out an email saying The Cube Host is know known as Logic Idea, then he is gone. He no longer replied to support emails asking what was happening. He stopped using Twitter (I'm not sure if the account is still open) but he definitely closed his Facebook group. I'd imagine hordes or people are ticked off with him too.

I'm sorry to hear about this but out of curiosity, how much research did you do into the provider before you signed up for them?

I checked reviews, emailed other TCH customers, checked their uptime stats, and corresponded with the owner for about 2 weeks with questions. I'm not a green when it comes to finding a host. Like I said, TCH was great, but who they sold the company to, is not .

Never said you were green, was just curious is all. Where did you search for reviews at?

Sorry to hear that you had such a terrible mess with them. I think now it's better if you have your backups move with another and also thanks for letting us know about their services.

googled the company name and clicked on relevant links where reviews were hosting. be it forums like this one. people's personal blogs where they talk about their hosting experiences. the hosting mudslinging that go on @ twitter.

hah you're saying that, but the questions you're asking make it sound like you think I closed my eyes, clicked on a list of hosting links, and signed up with whichever link loaded. I didn't chose who TCH sold to, so I can't be faulted for that and it was no mistake that I made being such.

Had TCH not sold out, I would be here posting rave reviews for them. I notice there is a forum for companies who are selling their hosting business, and those people could be perfectly wonderful host who just made the mistake of selling to a bad group. And a company can't be judged on it's age, because all webhosting companies have to be new at one point in time before they can establish themselves.

@iHubNet-Matt yes yes I had learned of TCH from this forum so I thought I'd to let everyone here know the results.

Finding a host nowadays is so hard, especially if you just do webdesign as a hobby and only need a little resources to display your sites. I don't want to have to pay as if I am running a business that generates revenue. And to top it off, so many people are opening up little businesses using their reseller accounts. Knowing full well that if something goes wrong with the server, they have no physical or virtual access to it, they have to send in support tickets too. I have a degree in Networking, but I'd never presume I knew enough to start a hosting company. Just greedy (

No, I never said or implied that although a slight case of paranoia may make you think so I guess. Now just as I said this - I am not saying you are paranoid, I am just saying that it's the only reason I can think that you may see things the way you did. I could certainly be wrong and it was my opinion, not a statement of fact.

I've never heard of them nor have I ever seen any reviews of them so I wanted to know where you heard of them and where you saw reviews so that I could look at some of them myself. I'm not making any assumptions about you, your research, or your abilities. If you feel that I'm doing so, then you need to not read into what people post on forums quite so much.

If I thought you searched with your eyes closed, I'd just come right on out and say that... No sense in trying to be inconspicuous.

Nobody said you should, again, you're reading into what I asked far too much. I was just curious is all. Relax, I'm not out to get you or insult you.

You were with them for a while before they did sell - maybe in the future make sure to write a review while things are good, and not just after they go bad. Had things continued on going well, do you think you would have ended up here? I'd venture to guess not, but I could be wrong.

Ultimately - just like buying hosting with a provider, who a provider chooses to sell to is up to them. If they don't conduct the necessary research (like you did) before making the sale they can very easily sell their provider into the garbage can.

Absolutely, I've said the same thing before

Now that you've found WHT, I do advise searching here for reviews on any provider you're considering as most of the reviews here are verified and fairly accurate from what I've seen over the last three years. I even uploaded this sometime last year to help for some: http://www.screen-shot.net/WHTSearch.png

Let's just get this clear - I'm not out to get you or insult you. If I ask you a question it's simply me wanting to understand or my curiosity and not some covert accusation.

@carolinealica: Could you please let me know your ticket number(s), we certainly don't want disgruntled customers so apologies if we didn't treat you right. But let's try to get this fixed asap.

I guess that is a hard lesson learned? Personally, I would not trust my business with someone who is still in high school.

I don't think the OP knew about that until after they had been a client for a while, from the way I read it.
