I am moving from Plesk to Cpanel but have a question for you Cpanel users. I use a feature (bug?) in Plesk that allows any user from any account to log into any mysql database.

What I am is if account #1 creates a mysql database with user JOE and account #2 creates a mysql database with user DON then JOE and log into DON's database with his own password of coarse.

Can you do that in CPanel?

No.. Exactly you can't do that on cPanel.

If you add a user directly into mysql can that user be accesses by any account?

I hope not... You will be creating databases in the format username_database name on cPanel, not like on plesk as database name.

There must be a lot of people that have several ecommerce websites with different domain names that pull data from a central database.

Can anyone think of anyway to have several domain names share a mysql database?
