    Bluray drive?

I'm planning on adding a Bluray drive into my system. So does anyone know of a good or have some recommendations on combo drive to add?

I will not be burning blurays.
    I will be burning CD/DVDs.

I've done well with lite-on drives over the years, having used about a dozen of them. I have a lite-on blueray drive on a htpc that has been reliable for a couple years now.

I've been looking at the lite-ons as well since they seem the most common and being black friday, I see a few for under $80. However, a lot of users on several sites are reporting there is a high failure rate, but it could be because there are so many around. There have also been a lot of comments about no firmware updates. How have the firmware updates been treating you?

Go for the Samsung SH-B123L, it has got nothing but rave reviews and it looks very smart also

It does look pretty good. I'm usually partial for Lite-On drives based on past experiences, but the reviews on this Samsung drive are indeed impressive (including the NewEgg reviews).

I have a samsung in my Media Center PC at home. It works very well. Wasn't too expensive either...

    I would defiantly recommend Samsung.

I actually got an HPbd240 combo drive. It was $60 on a sale so I ended up getting it.

All the included software was a joke, so I had to get AnyDVD, and went for WinDVD.

WHy do you want a bluray drive? I thought I needed one so I bought a ps3 instead (much cheaper than a blueray player), I ended up never using it.

I'd get a Lite-on drive if I needed one. Used their DVDRW drives for years without any problems. Unlikely though - rarely use my DVD drive as it is!

Lite-on has always been good to me and blue-ray drives that are read only are pretty cheep.

I have a Lite-On as well and so far it has been pretty sweet.
That is what I recommend. On an offnote, I cannot believe how cheap Blu-Ray players have gotten now. It is truly awesome. The quality of Blu-Ray is far superior then DVD, especially on my LED-LCD TV.
