any blog scripts to recommend?
i did a search on hotscripts.com already... check out some of them but some of them does not provides demo.
anyway i am looking for a blog script that users can sign up and build their own blog... and from the admin panel, i can insert headers or foots or both to place ads.

Sounds like a little bit of ASP or PHP, do you know either of these?

If you're going the b2 route, try WordPress
It's the "official" successor to b2, and is now a solid product. I use it, and it's very fast (in comparison to Movable Type). Quite a lot of hacks and add-ons available now as well.
You also have complete control over layout, so ads etc wouldn't be a problem at all.
