    Server Administration Books

    Hey,

I'm looking to further my knowledge of server administration. I'm a Linux user of over 2 years and I've been working with MySQL and Apache for an equally long time, so I understand how to set up Linux servers and how to work with them. Given a man page and Google at my side, I can figure my way through just about any service.

I know a few server optimisation tricks and have had decent success with them, but I want to expand my knowledge of security and performance tuning. What sorts of articles / books should I be reading to improve my knowledge of these subjects? Are there any really good books on the topic?

    Thanks.

Its best to get a book that specializes in the item you want to learn more about for example, you want to learn about apache, get an apache book. All in one books are garbage.

I always enjoy Unix Power Tools as a nice little reference.. its is more of just a ramble than a book, but I've found quite a few little tips and tricks in it that are quite useful.

http://www.tldp.org : The Linux Documentation Project is always a handy reference as well.

    http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO...ooks/handbook/ : FreeBSD Handbook.

There are tons more, but like Steven said, it all depends what you want to learn exactly.
