    Cant reinstall OS...

    I just got a qube 2 off ebay, it has the os installed, but they didnt wipe the passwords...is there any way I can get around that? Remove the cmos battery perhaps?

    you should be able to remove its hdd, insert in another box, mount it, and change/remove the password

    you need the gui password for restoring it?

    or, get a OS restore CD iso image from ftp.cobalt.sun.com and
    just restore the OS to the way it was "new"

    Very simple.

    Did you notice a small hole nearby the LCD screen? Use a paper clip n poke it. This will remove the 'admin' password.

    Then, login with username as 'admin' and no password. You should be able to access the server now.
