Aah.. not this
I got into an argument a while back about the pronunciation of cache on another forum.
I, and everybody I know in real life pronounce it 'caysh'. I've heard it pronounced as 'cash', but not any onther pronunciations.
As for Porsche - I prounounce it PORSH-ah.

Okay.. I've just looked it up in two dictionaries we have here - an American and Australian.
The American dictionary (Funk and Wagnalls) states that it is pronounced 'kash'.
The Australian dictionary (a Readers digest version, based on the English Oxford) states that it is pronounced 'caysh' (it has an accent, rather than spelling it 'caysh').
Both dictionaries are from the early 1960s.

As for Porch ..ever since I was a little tacka we had had Porch then a couple of years ago Porch ... as in torch .. dissappeared and along came "Porch U" ... wonder what ever happened to Porch they were a lovely car.
Another company that seems to have dissapeared is Nestles ... ness ll's they seem to have vanished and a strange new company has appeared called "ness-lay"
I vote bring back Porch and ness-ll's and leave caysh alone.]

Julie, the blonde, was getting pretty desperate for money. She decided to go to the nicer, richer neighborhoods around town and look for odd jobs as a handy woman.
The first house she came to, a man answered the door and told Julie,"Yeah, I have a job for you. "How would you like to paint the porch?"
"Sure that sounds great!" said Julie.
"Well, how much do you want me to pay you?" asked the man.
"Is fifty bucks all right?" Julie asked.
"Yeah, great. "You'll find the paint and ladders you'll need in the garage." The man went back into his house to his wife who had been listening.
"Fifty bucks! Does she know the porch goes all the way around the house?" asked the wife.
"Well, she must, she was standing right on it!" her husband replied.
About 45 minutes later, Julie knocked on the door. "I'm all finished," she told the surprised homeowner.
The man was amazed. "You painted the whole porch?"
"Yeah," Julie replied, "I even had some paint left, so I put on two coats!"
The man reached into his wallet to pay Julie. "Oh, and by the way," said Julie, "That's not a Porch, it's a Ferrari."

In case you didn't notice, CAYSH is the american pronounciation, whereas those from the UK/EU English Speaking Nations say "cash"(kash).
What does it matter? its spelt the same way and we all know what each other is talking about.

Everytime I hear the word cash I have this involuntary action. I immediately go down on my knees with my arms outstretched, much like a puppy dog begging for a bone. Quite embarrising really. Of course I recover fairly quickly especially if I end up with the cash.

I pronounce it "cash"
And when pronouncing Porsche, I call it "Damn, one day, I'm gonna buy me one of those sexy Boxters..."

Why not just look in the dictionary.
dictionary.com and the cambridge dictionary (sorry the OED doesn't have a free search)
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=cache
has the pronounciation as kash
In the English language the last e is silent in many words. Porsche for example isn't an English name which is why the last e isn't silent.
