    File descriptor problems

I've been messing with this all week and I'm starting to get annoyed. Cpanel puts all sorts of limits on users. The most annoying thing is it sets the max number of open files (file descriptors, or sockets) at 100. Since I host other stuff like irc servers on my server, this is a problem.

I did the things listed at these places:
    http://www.vulnscan.org/UnrealIrcd/faq/#46
    http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...hreadid=206089

Non-cpanel accounts still have a limit of 100. I can get cpanel created accounts up to 1024 by editing /etc/profiles, but setting it any higher than that causes SSH to disconnect you when trying to connect.

    Any suggestions?

Well I removed it and it did seem to remove the cpanel limit files, but I'm still having the problem with the maximum being 1024. It still disconnects you if you go over.
