    SEO company

I need recommendations on a good SEO company.

Experiences if you have worked with the company would be good also.

    Thanks

Nobody knows of a good SEO company?

Or a good SEO developer as it does not have to be a company.

You have no problem finding people on forums.digitalpoint.com ... but watch out though, is a sharks market...

Perhaps if you elaborate, I could be of further assistance. Do you just need good code (2.0, meta tagged aso) or an actual SEOer to work on link farming and such?

Well I have a client and there website is way out of date. They are not using meta tags at all right now.

They are looking at someone that will charge them 100.00 a month to increase search engine presensce. I said that I am not an SEO expert but I would do some research and see if this is standard practice or if they should look at other options.

So they pretty much need everything starting with code work meta tags and then going beyond.

Hope this helps and thanks for the information.

No harm in that. Meta tags carry virtually 0 weight in SE rankings. They can be useful for visitors, but don't expect any penalty for omitting them when it comes to SEs.

Can you share a URL and terms for which they wish to rank high?

There are loads of places who will do SEO for you, its just a case of finding a good price and good quality work.

Don't fall for 'We will get you in the top 10 for any search term you want within 3 days' because it doesn't help. The thing that probibly helps SEO most, is high ranking pages linking to yours.

Having said this, if you look on free lancer sites you will find a load of people do it on there for very reasonable money.

v7n.com and webdesigntalk.net are some great places to look for seo specialists.

I think if you use search engines on the term "seo companies" the ones at the top are likely to be your best bet

Hm...are you sure about it? Those working in the SEO field have some comments to share on these tops in google, let's say

Anyway, I have some candidates - SEO companies to recommend - low, high budget ones, professional, not so professional, which one would you prefer, WickedShark?

I'm no SEO expert, and from a non expert point of view it makes sense to go with SEO people who are actually at the top of google or any other search engine, as it suggests they can actually achieve the same for your site.

What sort of comments do those working in SEO have ?

Most companies, SEO or otherwise, have much more targeted interests than broad phrases or single key words. The fact is there are factors that play into ranking that are out of the hands of SEO companies, and you can't know those factors or know how each individual SEO company targets its traffic. So while searching for "SEO companies" might give you some interesting results, it may be that this is not the best basis for comparison, because maybe a stronger SEO company gets returned when you search for "SEO company" or "search engine marketing" or "quality SEO" or "SEO New York City" or "Internet traffic" or any one of thousands of legitimate terms/phrases.

    Just something to chew on

    Loads of nice options...

... If you need more, or perhaps have a hard time assessing the above, I'll quickly look over your clients site and try to determine what needs they actually have. It won't cost you anything.

I'm currently finishing my masters degree in information science - so the subject is def. not foreign to me.

PM me if you need some advice or help. But the above are decent options, and a 100$/month commitment would most likely give you OK results... otherwise change SEO provider.

Agreed. I run several websites that have nothing listed for the meta keywords and descriptions and have PRs between 5-7. This isn't 1999 anymore, the only weight they carry is for internal uses, like sitewide search engine. Other than that, it's your content and semantic markup that matters.

We have received some great advice from searchenginenews.com. Their articles are very easy to understand and their staff is 100% dedicated to SEO and the latest technology.

As for consulting any of the searchenginenews.com associates are helpful, but not cheap.

SEO is one of the fields where you can easily see and check the results and verify the claims of a particular company. So once you shortlist the SEO companies a quick check on their client's websites and how they rank in top search engines etc. Also I guess there are google certified professionals now.

web metro is pretty popular. But I believe that the best seo for your site could be done by you. Focus on the content. That is probably the most important of all.
