I'm new and need advice on which reseller host to go with...
Hello,
As you can see I am a new member of WHT, I plan to be an active one but time will tell. I am opening my own web hosting company, it won't actually be registered as a company, I will be trading under a name but nevertheless I need some advice. I've got my own little niche of customers hence that won't be a problem. I need advice on what reseller provider to go with, there are quite a few out there and I don't know which one to go with. Here is some of the research that I have done so far:
heartinternet.co.uk - £29.99
Unlimited Disk Space
Unlimited Bandwidth
Unlimited Sites
Resell Domains
Website Builder
I have also seen them mention something about WHMCS client billing system but I don't think it's actually included in the package. They don't seem to mention anything about private nameservers and whether the price is per month or if you have to pay annually.
unitedhosting.co.uk - £28
5GB Disk Space
50GB Bandwidth
50 Hostable Websites
Unlimited other
cPanel/WHM
Own Nameservers
cyberhostpro.com - £25
20gb Disk Space
350gb Bandwidth
200 Hostable Websites
Unlimited other
cPanel/WHM
Private Nameservers
rshosting.co.uk - £40
24GB Disk Space
600GB Bandwidth
Unlimited Sites
cPanel/WHM
Private Nameservers
Free ENOM Reseller Account
Free SSL Certificate
WHMCS License
------------------------------------------------------
All of the plans above look quite appealing although I seem to like RSHosting.co.uk the most since it provides me with all of these valuable features. To be honest I'm not sure which host to go with, I need something reliable and long term, RSHosting looks like a great option but I've not heard of them before even though they seem to be around from 2003. Anyone care to give some advice? Maybe a better alternative? The host must be in the UK because I will have to deal with stupid tax. I don't think I have forgotten to mention anything else but if I have I will add it in later.
PS. What’s the difference between normal bandwidth and premium bandwidth?

I would recommend HostDime.. They even offer hosting in the UK. Their support is fantastic.

Hi
Premium bandwidth is the sane but usually delivered over quality data centres with plenty of ISPs backbones etc
Also it's probably cheaper to buy your own ssl and whmcs and choose a quality host over inclusive software.█ The Hosting Heroes Ltd - over 20 years in the UK hosting industry.

Hmmm... I've had a look at them and I don't know...
That's true although I would prefer software such as WHMCS bundled in as otherwise I would have to deal with USD currency. Is there anything you would recommend? I see your from CyberHostPro?Last edited by hiheyhello; 09-12-2010 at 02:05 PM.

Does anyone know why RSHosting.co.uk do not charge any VAT? Will this have some kind of an effect on me if I decide to go with them?

I'd recommend RSHosting - they are quite a reputable provider that has been around for a long time now

Check out EZPZ hosting in the UK. Great reputation around the forums and much cheaper plans than you have mentioned, with all the same features.
Best of luck with your search!

Great! Now I'm confused... xD
I don't know which company to go with, I think I will either go for InnoHosting or EzPzHosting, now it's a matter of which one should I actually go for.
So confused...

Hi
its possible they are a small company and are not turning over more than 70k a year which means they would not be required to register for VAT.
However if this is true... its likely they may not offer around the clock support as of course they would need money to pay for staff which would usually mean a turn over of more than 70k. This i am not sure and have not looked at their site, I am just giving my opinion/assumption on a UK company not charging VAT.
EDIT: I am now thinking they maybe not a UK company. They do not list their address on http://www.rshosting.co.uk/about-us which usually you'd expect to see.█ The Hosting Heroes Ltd - over 20 years in the UK hosting industry.

@CyberHostPro - Thanks for the info, I think I will move by.
I think I will go for InnoHosting or EzPzHosting but I've got an issue. From what it looks like both companies are UK based but none of them mention anything about charging VAT. Are both of these companies VAT registered?
Edit: Also, InnoHosting seems to only use the USD currency, how do I deal with tax since I'm in the UK??Last edited by hiheyhello; 09-12-2010 at 05:40 PM.

Just to answer your post, if they aren't VAT registered, then the price you see on the website is the price you'll pay. It's no bad thing.

I really don't know what to do, I'll either go for one of these companies:
UnitedHosting
CyberHostPro
eukhost
or these:
InnoHosting
EZPZHosting
So far the three UK registered ones at the top appeal the most to me due to them being registered in the UK and having a UK VAT number and the other two appeal to me from the offers point of view, they have a better offer.

You left out of your specs 24/7 end user support. Getting customers is one thing. Keeping them serviced and happy is another. If you are a sole trader, you're going to be out or away from the desk muchly. And you gotta sleep.
To me someone to handle the support tickets for you behind the scene is smart marketing. And good customer service. You should add this to the mix you are seeking.Keep smiling all - and happy hosting.

Okay I think I've made my final decisions and I will definitely go for one of these companies:
CyberHostPro
InnoHosting
EZPZHosting
But which one? I have yet to decide...

I realize you've narrowed it down to 3 potential hosts, if you're still open to suggestions are two more:
Rochen.co.uk and clook.co.uk are two of the most respectable UK hosts on WHT (in addition to UH of course).
Of course I would recommend doing your own homework, search for reviews, and send them a few pre-sales questionsWhat's your budget?
Seriously, what's your budget?
