    Intermedia hosted PBX: down

    My client's hosted PBX with Intermedia.net is experiencing problems; the line rings 9 times, followed by a message "We're sorry, due to heavy calling, we cannot complete your call at this time. Please hang up and try your call again later." Then the line rings 3 times and a message comes on "We are unable to complete your call at this time. Please try again later (repeated in Spanish) ... message 12, switch 6 9 4." This has been going on over the past three hours.

    Support at Intermedia is usually pretty good, but they haven't even responded to the ticket yet (other than the auto response.)

    Anyone else have the hosted PBX through Intermedia?

    Is Ring Central a better provider?

    Unfortunately there isn't much we can do.
    Try to contact your provider or awaiting their ticket reply is pretty much your best bet unless they have someone here on WHT.

    Well, I'm looking for opinions from those who have more experience with the hosted PBX solution with Intermedia.net Opinions are usually not something in short supply on WHT (I've been a poster here since 2003).

    Also, anyone with experience with Ring Central is welcome to give me their opinions of them.

    (BTW - Intermedia.net is having an issue with the Voice Menu function on the pbx014 server, so the quick solution is to disable the voice menu and route incoming calls to a single extension)

    Not hosted pbx, but about 3 years ago, we were hard down on Email with them for a good 18+ hours..

    Their email service has been very good so far; they provide a lot of features and the on-boarding experience was good. My clients are SMBs and "solopreneurs" with just a few email accounts, and this client in particular is very happy with the hosted Exchange service. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again for Exchange.

    But hosted PBX, well not so much. I will probably transition them to RingCentral, as RC has better fax handling (both directions) and more call routing options based on up to 100 rules.
