    * Anyone here speak French?

    I'm trying to learn it. So just wondering...

    (I know Americans aren't supposed to like the French these days and the French aren't supposed to like Americans, but hey... I have Quebeçois blood in my genes! I might as well learn the language.)

    and then when speaking french with out computer chip inside of us we will sound all creapy half the time. my guess is the people in call centers in foriegn places would be first to be hit by having to use 'em and then all callers would always here a voice pausing between sylables.

    the only problem i see in that trying to understand what someones saying in french and have to repsond

    It's fun to learn French, that's what I have heard from my friends who were taking the course with me - I had to take a foreign course so I took french as I do speak it and did not want to learn and struggle with a new language.
    I found it easy to learn French as I learned it in school when I was 5 years old.

    Fun to learn French, are you crazy! I did it for 5 years in school, got a B at GCSE. Went to France a few weeks ago and couldn't remember a thing! Most of them speak English anyway now so glad I didn't waste the extra time doing it at A level!

    I have been to France over 12 times so far - I am heading to France mid of July - if you speak English in France, most probably that person would reply in FRENCH, and if he/she does not understand what you're saying, they would go "Eh, Bien" and would not bother to ask you to repeat.

    I only went for a few days but I met only one person who didn't speak English when I said "Hello" and she was about 70 when we were asking for directions, luckily her grand daughter spoke almost perfect English.
