subforms
rather then having ten trillion forums as we did in the past, and then it got so cluttered, why dont you do like sitepointforums where theres a small "sub forum" with a simple link under the main forum, that way it wont clutter up the main forums area
Do I hear a second?

I'd like to make this a poll to see if people actually like those sub forums or not. Problem with sub forums is that they are hidden, and often less traveled. A post made in a sub forum wouldn't see near as much traffic, and thus get fewer responses. These seem to take longer to get going. We's needs a poll...
Ohhh, personally I don't care for the sub forum thing, but I'd like to know what others think, in general about them, not necessarily for here.

I think the forum as it is now, is fine. I can find the forums I want.
Last time they switched the placement of "job offer" and "related offer", and I was visiting the wrong forum for a few days, until I realize that the placement was switched.
The changes confuse me.

Or; are we just going to have an informal poll in this thread instead?
I wanna vote.
I just don't wanna vote twice.
Okay. I suppose I could have voted here as long as I'm writing. But . . . . . . . . . . . .There is no best host. There is only the host that's best for you.

er . . . . Maybe not
At the time I posted there were only "No" votes.
I don't mean no votes. I mean only votes for no.
If I say I voted; then I say how I voted. And I ain't sayin' nuthin'
'cept to say, "Get out there and vote!"

I'd have to agree with Chicken. When i'm at sitepoint, theres too much clicking to do, too hard to get where you want to go.. So I just press 'home' and i'm here at good old WHT. *sigh*

Very early on we tested "nested" forums on the Musical Instrument Makers Forum (a general "Stringed Instruments" forum with subforums like "Guitars," "Non-Fretted Instruments," "Bowed Instruments," etc.) and it was the only thing we ever tried that was universally despised by all our members. NO ONE liked having to drill though multiple levels of nested forums to find what they wanted to read. We got an earfull, and never tried it again.
