Burglar breaks into a house to appologize for breaking into the house.

    From: http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/100332.html

Wellington - A burglar broke into a house in Queenstown, New Zealand, twice in a day - the second time to return his loot and leave a heartfelt letter of apology, news reports said on Friday. The intruder smashed a window to get into Graeme and Shirley Glass' house and took a laptop computer, camera and wallet containing a credit card, the Otago Daily Times reported.
Looks like they're still looking to press charges.

Heh. Guilt must have gotten the better of him.

He must be feeling guilty. There still some conscience in him to turn him around.

Guilty about that, or trying to cover something bigger up.

It sounds exactly like the one guy that was on TV about 2 months ago who sent a letter to the girl that he raped 10-15 years before. He only wanted to apologize. He was obviously arrested.

Here in the states, rape and murder are exempt from Statute of Limitions. No link handy offhand.

I don't think that's true. There was just a case in my area (look up "The Bike Path Rapist" ) where DNA proved he had raped several women years ago, but they could not prosecute him on those rapes because of the statute.

In US, only first degree murders are exempt from Statute of Limitations.
