What's the advantage of 64 bit?

Instead of can recognize more than 4GB RAM, What's the advantage of 64 bit?

I'm curious because PAE kernel or Softlayer's kernel can recognize more than 4GB RAM.

    Please share your opinion.

    Thanks alot in advance.

64 bit processor do more number crunching than 32 bit so if you use a 64 bit os and 64 bit applications on your 64 bit processor, it would be faster and the load would be lower on such a server compared to 32 bit processor under same conditions.

First make sure your hardware and software is compatible with 64bit. If not, then there's no benefit, and can even cause problems. But if they are compatible, then the processing and handling speed will be much better on a 64bit system as compared to a 32bit system.
