    Would like to verify server specs/location for my needs

    Hi all, brand new to this forum. I am looking for a dedicated server for a new business, a Ticketmaster type website but with more pictures and videos. The location will be in Vancouver, BC and the traffic I'm hoping for is between 100k-200k visitors a day (to start). Quick loading is a priority. I've done some homework and want to ask the experts their opinions on if this server will work for me:

    Intel E5-2620 V2
    3x 240GB SSD (6GB/s) (or 2x 480GB SSD +$100/mo)
    2TB SATA 7.2K
    16GB DDR3
    5x IP Addresses
    10TB Bandwith
    1 Gbps Port
    Phoenix Data Center
    $599/month

    I will be using a Windows OS but unsure which one I should use:
    Windows Server 2008 Standard/Enterprise/Data Center ($20/$60/$120)
    Windows Server 2012 Standard/Data Center ($20/$120)

    Is the price fair or is it too expensive? What about the location of the server, is it too far?

    Thanks in advance!

    You can find a server as your need from leaseweb.com. If you need a good port speed then always go for leaseweb.

    I would change:

    Intel E5-2620 V2 -> E5-16XXv3
    3x 240GB SSD (6GB/s) (or 2x 480GB SSD +$100/mo) -> 4 x 240GB SSD RAID10 array
    2TB SATA 7.2K -> For backups - OK
    16GB DDR3 -> ECC RAM? I think, you need around 32GB and more
    5x IP Addresses
    10TB Bandwith -> 10 - 20TB should be ok
    1 Gbps Port
    Phoenix Data Center
    $599/month -> You can get it cheaper, if you chose E5-16XXv2 - E5-16XXv3 series.

    Thanks for the responses. I've checked the offers section and dug around for more quotes and I'd like to know if this server will suit my website:

    Intel E5-1650 V3
    4x 256GB SSD softRAID-10
    16GB EEC DDR4
    1 Gbps Port
    10TB Bandwidth
    5x /29 IP Addresses
    10Gbps DDoS Protection
    NY Data Center (supposedly Tier 4)

    $194/month (or $275/month for E5-1660 V3)

    Is a NY server going to be okay if most users are from Vancouver, BC? We also plan on expanding to Toronto and Seattle in the near future.

    Thanks

    i would think that you would be better off going with a dedi provider nearer to your customer base or even using a CDN type service

    You may want to check LA and Chicago datcenters for faster ping times.
