How can Amazon make money on small credit card transactions?
Say I store 1GB of data on S3 and this is all I use on AWS. My monthly charges would be $0.14 if I am not mistaken.
I just don't see how this can be profitable for Amazon if they charge my credit card monthly. From what I know each charge for credit card carries a fixed cost $0.20-$0.50 (or something like that) plus the percentage of total transaction value paid to credit card company. If this is correct Amazon will lose money on each transaction.
Can anyone explain?

They may just be taking a loss on the transaction, in return for customer satisfaction.
