Vanilla Forum Software Anyone tried?
I am thinking of using Vanilla Forum, it looks Web 2.0 with a lot of features, but just wondering is it difficult to maintain? A lot of patches to be done or not? And is it resource intensive? Anyone who is using it care to share the information?

You should set up your own demo and test it out to see if this CMS for you. Vanilla never felt like a real forum to me. Out of the box it doesn't have any extra features that you mention besides it's basic functionality, that's why it is very light consider server resource usage.

I used it when making a site for someone once. I'm not sure on its resource usage but it certainly worked very well for us. Modding the style and integrating it to a markup design was very straightforward. Lots of addons available on their website too.
