    Installing Zend Optimizer

I tried to install whois.cart, but it says I dont have Zend Optimizer installed, so I found this link that says how to install it: http://www.webhostgear.com/184.html
has anyone tried this? will it cause any problems in the future like conflicting with other software?

That's the right way but outdated.

    wget http://downloads.zend.com/optimizer/...21-i386.tar.gz
    tar xvfz ZendOp*
    cd ZendOptimizer-2.6.2-linux-glibc21-i386
    ./install.sh

    Defaults will usually work.

    Won't cause any problems.

yes zend optimizer works really flawlessly, and without any slow downs or incompatibility issues with regular php scripts.

I only wish Zend Safeguard wasnt $1000.00 for a one year license . And this price came down considerably a few days ago. It used to be almost $4000.00 for a license, although this license was not limited to 1 year. I think they figure they will make more money by not offering an unlimited license anymore.

If you dont already know, Zend Safeguard is not the same thing as Zend Optimizer. Optimizer is for decoding the scripts, and Safegaurd is for encoding scripts.

    - Zend SafeGuard

    - Zend Optimizer

To install zend opt with cpanel. Simplely login via ssh and type "/scripts/installzendopt " without quotes. This will autoinstall zend.

I wish I knew that before installing it manually.

if you are having cpanel then just run the following command:

    /scripts/installzendopt
