cPanel Domain Sorting = Silly
OK, you get a cPanel account, but your root domain is stored in public_html, while other domains go in folders. This is really annoying in my opinion. Simply because it would be nicer to have:
public_html >> domain folders / subdomain folders (no .php files and .html files flying all over) >> files
Also, with subdomain and domain folders, it would be nice if they were the actual domain/subdomain name.
I'm not a super-fussy or neat person, this just annoys me a lot.
To get round it, with a reseller account you can create a sub account, with a random domain (that doesn't exist or anything), then just add adon domains and it works (except with the file names). Still, root accounts can do it
What a fuss

I get what your saying about addons, but root is not the only user on the server that can create main accounts. Resellers can setup main accounts too and this is what you should be doing if you really have a lot of domains.

Why login multiple times for multiple domains, when cPanel can have as many as it wants though? I've never understood that...

I agree to a certain extent, but that's one of the cons of cPanel.

Yep, there is no true multi-domain hosting with cPanel yet. I think when they made the control panel in the beginning it was not that big of a thing for everybody to have multiple websites, which is extremely common now. The addon feature is probably their solution to hosting multiple domains.
Just use a password saver, default with firefox and it's not too bad.

Sometimes I've helped people make minor htaccess changes to make things a bit more organized. It's worth a try.

I do use .htaccess and redirects and so on to achieve what I want normally, it just makes the entire system easier to use.

Hey,
If you have root access to the server, you can change the document root in the httpd.conf file. This will let you setup where the first directory should be when you enter the site.
But at the moment, creating sub-domains and different accounts is your best choice.

Sweet, didn't know that, we are getting cPanel 11 when it's 100% stable in August sometime, until then, stuck with x.
