Alot more than I thought
Im very new around here so I know people dont know my story really. For about the past year I have been interested in getting involved in web hosting. In Jan I bought and launched my domain www.scribblehost.com Ive been involved in websites a very long time. When I was 14 I bought the domain www.scribblenet.com I went away to school and pretty much stopped the whole web development thing. Just graduated in May and now im in Graudate school for my MBA. I work part-time at an internship in a finance company. As well as trying to get this up and running on the side, along with several other web projects.
Bottom line is I thought getting everything up and running was not going to be as hard and long as it has been. I know im not working on this 24/7 but I have been doing alot when I can. I do not have any clients yet but expect to have my first within the month. Im going to have to undertake the costs of having WHMCS moble to help support any clients as I am constantly on the move. I feel I have made decent progress over the past months and hope to be ready to take on more and more clients soon. I have not even got to the whole promotion and sales thing yet. As the website is still a work in progress. To top it all off my budget is tight and was funded by my college dorm pretzel keg full of coins which amounted to 600$ This first client will cover most of my expenses.
did neone else underestimate like me?

It took me around 3 months to get my first website clients, dont have too much high hopes on it. You need to build up your reputation slowly, its not something overnight.

my frist client is going to come through a guy I met in class who invented a board game. The rest I will start localy advertising to businesses. Hopefully that will get me going. I have not marketed at all yet because i have been building the website still. Which I still have many things to accomplish on it before I can start marketing on the web

I would sit down and write out a business plan before spending the first dollar. Since you're working on your MBA, you should have access to plenty of resources for doing so.
