    Modifying monthly CC payment

    Hi,

We're currently using Revecom (Paysystems) and Paypal (if customers want).

Do you know if there is a way to modify the monthly amount without (or very little) customer intervention?

That is... suppose a customer upgrades to a new plan, or "buys" and optional item (eg. more bandwidth). How do YOU handle it? I haven't seen a way in Revecom OR paypal to change it... the closest I could find would be the customer re-signing up completely from scratch!!!

Any ideas? How do you do it?

You can email support@paysystems.com and tell them to modify the charge. I think you're going to have to get approval from your client first.

It would be nice if the client only has to follow a link saying something like:

"Your payment every 30 days has been changed from US$50 to $65. Click here to authorize this change."

But to have a client redo everything from the start is plain stupid, and we're already lost a couple of clients over this because we are unable to change the monthly fee properly. We can't even fill in the form for the client as the client has to be the one to submit it (legally).

Any other suggestions? Are there any other third party CC providers that allow this? Maybe Propay or 2checkout or something?

2checkout - no... I am with them but looking for an option just because of the reason mentioned in this thread.

Your best bet is to get a merchant account. That is not hard at all these days. Everybody can get a merchant account. We are with ECHO, you may want to take a look at http://www.echo-inc.com

The reason we're using Revecom and other third-party merchants is because we're in Hong Kong, China, and none of the banks here are happy to offer merchant accounts to companies accepting most of their payments over the Net.

    Sad, but true.

So perhaps there is SOME third-party merchant similar to Revecom that will allow monthly payments to be modified?

No recurring billing = not an option

how could we run a webhosting and dedicated server business if we can't charge our clients every month automatically?
