Website Creator for beginner
I am looking for some software that will aid me in creating a website for our small business. I have very little knowledge of coding and html. Here are some items that I would like to include in our website. High Resolution Pictures, links to websites, approximatly 20-25 pages, contact inserts (emails), possible some short 5-10 sec video, possible some flash animation (easy stuff, nothing complicated).
Maybe someone can also help me with hosting. I am looking at about 50-100 views per day, with at least 5 email addresses.

Have you checked out "wordpress.com"? It's easy to maintain and you don't need much coding experience. There's plenty of free business templates available online.

Some hosting providers do include websites builder such as Parallels or RVSiteBuilder that makes the website building process very much simpler for you - you basically just need to choose from the hundreds of templates and configure it to match your desired website needs.
Alternatively, you can visit ThemeForest.net and purchase some of the templates there (typically costs around $20) - most are however around 5 pages at max, however it shouldn't be too hard to add new pages in since most of the design has already been coded for you.
Regarding webhosting, I believe most hosting providers allow unlimited email addresses, so 5 email addresses shouldn't be a problem. With 50-100 views per day, you should be looking at a Shared Hosting provider.Last edited by bear; 04-30-2010 at 07:43 AM.

Check out NVU or site builders on free or paid hosts. This would be a great start

You could create each web page in a word processor.
Word processors allow you to insert hyperlinks, so users can get from one page to another.
It's worth trying out on say three pages; if you don't like the method, you'll have a better idea of what you want from a different web page creation tool.

Easiest CMS for beginners is Wordpress and it comes with many free themes...
Joomla for community driven sites
Magento for Ecommerce
...if you plan on expanding in the future with new features then I would go with ModxCMS. I've tried them all and Modx is a fantastic CMS... just released version 1.0 and it's going to be taking off ... Ajax features, full control over page designs (no template restrictions), internal SEO built in....

Please don't.
The markup they produce is typically some of the worst and most bloated code I've ever seen. I took a 4 word phrase "How now brown cow" in Word, and exported to html (3.8KB in size, for 4 words on a plain white background). The actual words didn't appear until line 126 in the resultant code. The rest to that point was defining nothing at all related to displaying those words, as it was plain text, with no formatting, backgrounds or anything.
Just say no.Your one stop shop for decentralization
