Ideal games to provide hosting for?
Honestly, I am 100% video game illiterate but I have been reading a lot recently about game hosting. I find it as a very twist for the web hosting industry. I am familiar with the game minecraft as some of my good friends are strong supporters of the game.
Aside from minecraft, what are some other games that require servers to play that would sell?
Just curious to see what some of the gamers out there like and have to say about this trend.██ Andrew Benson - ShoutcastCity

In addition to the comments earlier, I highly suggest that you check the games from the following list:
http://store.steampowered.com/stats/
It's a list of which games have been played today by steam players and it should give you an insight on which gamehosting markets are broadly used.
I personally recommend that you check that list after 22:00 US time, since then it will contain a more update list as the day progresses.

Team Fortress 2
Counter-Strike
Day of Defeat
Call of Duty
These are usually played the most. Not bad too considering CS and DoD are old!

You can try to get an EA License to host the BattleField series.. but I hear it's very hard to get the license.

I'd just host anything you can. Just make sure you have the game, so then you're answering tickets, you know what to say.
