why the heck would anyone want to go to Cal for vacation... go to Florida and catch the waves, or fishing in New Orleans.

Have a good trip, they still have Sea World or whatever that place is in SD. On your way home stop in Las Vegas and say hello to my money.

ROFL you took the words out of my mouth, he's suggesting places that have been right in the path of major hurricanes this season.

/edit: "catch the waves" has a different meaning in this context.

Is it getting that bad? I thought FL has had storms like this before?

You would probably go for a few tinnies and when you walked out his tribe (wife and kids) would be standing out the front waiting for him.

I do enjoy a nice wine every now and then. I'm just not into beer or spirits. My perfect bar would be smoke free, a couple of pool tables, some nice big leather lounges to read the paper, ample supply of RedBull, and some Aussie rock on in the background.

You are serously going to owe me for this one:

Next time you're down in Brisbane check out the public bar downstairs.

It's been a few years since I was in there so I don't know if it's smoke free, but even then there was very few smokers in there.

Everything else is what you've asked for - only with a 4/5 star environment attached. Pool tables are on the second floor, huge projection TV (or at least it used to have), and a *very* nice selection of *everything* over the bar.

Mid to late afternoon is best - before the crowds show up (2pm - 6pm).

The Story Bridge Hotel use t be my watering hole. Heaps of people, plenty of women, all beer drinkers, pool tables, muso's, uni students, wino's, great atmosphere. Also use to be one or two interesting pubs down the Valley. (fortitude Valley).

Coming down to my neck of the woods I see. Avoid Riverside; nothing really to do here, and nothing to see. It's also quite warm out here. Oxnard, OC, LA, San Diego, all have excellent things to see and do. I love San Diego; always will be my home!
