Need a host for a large UBB
So I'm homeless. Does someone know of a reliable host that will take in a large UBB? I must use the UBB as I am a beta tester I need:
- 600.0MB disk space, at the least, more preferred.
- 25.0GB bandwidth, at the least, more preferred.
- No stupid directory size limits
- Telnet and FTP access
- PERL, CGI-BIN, PHP, all that standard good stuff.
- I'd also like to be able to make a custom plan if necessary, I can offer free advertising on the board for the host if I can get a discount.
- But really... nothing else, no other frills needed
I need some help ASAP, I've got about 8000 members waiting for a message board here. It's already been down for 2 days now.

Try www.HostingPlex.com
They have some specials right now that should be just right for your busy forum. I'm sure they'll help you transfer the forum over too.

Hmm, they look a bit fishy, so much space and bandwidth so such a small price?
Oh yeah, I also need a month to month contract, no yearly stuff. And when I say large UBB.classic, I mean....8000+ Members, half a million posts total, 150 new posts per day, 150 users online at one time, it can be quite server intensive.

Maybe a virtual private server?
You could try http://www.hardhathosting.com http://www.splashhost.com
Around $50 monthly for your requirements.
I have no first hand experience with any of them, just an impression that they are well liked.Good Web Hosting Info - Information about web hosting

You could get a Citadelhost reseller account for about $12.99/month which includes 2gb of space and 30gb of bandwidth.
Probably the best option...

Make sure you ask any webhost your going to choose whether they permit UBB. Many webhosts don't allow it because it can be a resource hog.

Yeah, I'm looking for a host that specifies that they accept UBBs.

I don't know of any that do allow UBB.. I think the best route would be to get a VDS as said above. Good luck!

I'm a UBB beta tester, so I have to use the UBB.classic. Anyhow, I went with HostNuke, they were recommended by some current UBB users.
So, thanks for the advice anyhow, guys. I do appreciate it! No more emails now.
