    GeekStorage.com Issues

I cancelled my account with GeekStorage.com a year ago, but have been automatically billed via PayPal for over $100.

I have tried contacting their support ticket desk and have had no response, there live chat is offline, and further to that I have tried calling them and all departments go straight to voicemail.

Looking online their official twitter feed's last post was back in January.

Should I be worried? Have they closed for some reason?

How did they get $100 from you automatically? didn't you cancel the subscription? If you did check if your PayPal hasn't been compromised.

My own stupid fault - I did not cancel the recurring billing agreement, as I thought if GeekStorage refund my initial payment then it cancels the agreement automatically. (this is something I assumed WHMCS would do if you was to cancel a clients service, then through the PayPal API it would remove any automatic billing subscriptions)

PayPal subscriptions can be cancelled by the buyer only.

No, the seller can also cancel the subscription.

Yes, that is true -> https://developer.paypal.com/webapps...#id086530108PM

I mean another way around this is that the host 'seller' sets the subscription to inactive or a £0 price.

My bad, I was not aware that the seller can cancel the subscription, thanks for correcting me.

There website is functional you should wait for 24 - 48 hours. Try to email the sales team and see if you get response. Some hosting companies prefer to reply faster to pre-sales inquiries in comparison to support or billing tickets.

I have tried all departments - they advertise both live chat and telephone support between 9-5 office hours (in their timezone) and I cannot get a response from any of these.
This is why I am frustrated, and concerned.

    Hello,

It appears that you have a billing issue and those types of issues are not handled 24/7, nor can just anyone assist you - so those requests can and often do take a little bit longer than a regular support request.

Your issue will be resolved and your ticket will be updated soon.

    Regards,

    Jay

Yeah, it appears my corporate membership expired so I lost my extra storage. I'll renew it soon to resolve that issue.

Good to know you're there and Geekstorage.com is not closed

I have plan to try Geekstorage if I like to switch from my current host anytime in future.

Not a problem, GeekStorage is about to have its' 7th year anniversary here in a couple of months and we look forward to many more years of hosting with our awesome geeks. We're not going anywhere anytime soon.

As the OP, I can safely say that Jay @ GeekStorage has replied and resolved my ticket. It appears GeekStorage is fully operational, and lot closed like I had thought - but I still wonder why their telephone support and live chat is unreachable.

A title of this thread make me really shock.
Carpe diem, nothing impossible. Its just possible yet.

Misleading thread title. When you don't get response that doesn't mean a company is closed. Mod should edit the title IMO to prevent damaging GeekStorage's image. With Jay's passion and service quality, I don't think GeekStorage will ever close down (unless something serious). Glad you got it fixed.

OMG, the OP nearly gave me a heart attack. My main site is hosted by Geekstorage. It's working fine. Geekstorage, from my personal experience, provides good service.

To the OP, next time check things out fully before you jump to conclusions. And don't make thread titles just to get attention. At best, it's childish. At worst, it amounts to libel.
