Best option for me? VPS, Normal Host or Dedicated?

Hi, to you all here on this brilliant site

Im from Denmark, and currently looking for a new host, since i got some new sites launching soon, my current problem is my webhost cant handle it proberly, there load speed is some times way way to long to be honest, so im looking for a new EU based host, maybe nederland og gearmany based.

Currently got 3 domains up and running 2 of them got a shared usage of 20GB pr month, one of them is gonna do more traffic soon, since it is a page for a band, and they are releasing a new single, and might put up the latest album for free, so my guess is it will hit 300GB maybe 500GB, depending on the ammount of downloads, ill proberly do a download counter, that will block after xxx downloads, just to make sure the traffic dossent get totaly crazy, but again depends on the rules from a new host, here in dk you are normaly not allowed to add downloads to a shared host, so its important that it is allowed.

Real unmetered traffic wood be nice to but its not a deal breaker.

But lets get back to the data usage, then i got a new site that i wanna launch in 1-1½ month, and i belive its gonna get quite some traffic, it wont have downloads, and it will use youtube for its video contence, the backend of the site is wordpress, like the rest of my sites.

The most important stuff for me is!
Speed!
High ammount of Band width.
Backup features. (Ill do self hostet backup as well)
Unlimitet Subdomains, i use them alot to be honest.
Adleest 10 domains
Unlimitet MySQL databases, since i use that alot to.
10GB of storage or more.

If it ends up with a VPS or Dedicatet server, i want something like Plesk 10 domain, Cpanel, Usermin(virtualmin), Fast Reboot, shutdown, reinstall.

And last of it Firewall and DDOS protection, since i dont wanna battle with that ad all.

Feel free to give me some advice i will appriciate it alot.

Hiya, From what your saying I would recommend a VPS, simply because of the bandwidth that your expecting to come in, and the speed as well, you'd have more precise knowledge about whats powering your site with a VPS unlike a shared where you'd have to share the resources. most VPS suppliers will charge about $15+ for cPanel P/M and quite a few have firewall and DDOS protection chucked in etc.

You definitely need a VPS for this. Get yourself a nice VPS with 1TB - 10TB of Bandwidth and you'll have no issues. Mind you, with all that transfer the downloads may be slow. Go with a host that has the option to upgrade to a dedicated line incase the downloads are too slow. Check the VPS offers forum: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=104

Hello,

I suggest you to go with a VPS, on Servint (Amsterdam DC) or SimplexWebs.

Regards!

According your specification, its recommended to use the VPS hosting. Using the VPS, you can manages your personal host, manage multiple hosting applications, and other advantages if compare with another hosting packages.

Super

Im actualy starting to have a look on Webmin/Virtualmin, and migt setup at VM test server just to se how it is installed.

And i have read abit about some different HTTP Deamons, and i think Nginx looks very promesing, Lighttpd dossent look to shabby either, and if i understood it right the are alot faster then apache, uses less system recources, and stuff like that.

And then i have read abit about MariaDB, will Wordpress even install on MariaDB?
