Is there anyway i can just get the expiry date of the domain? in the whois?
i understand that if you do whois..
you will get the whois output but is there anyway to get just the expiry date onli?
can anyone advise?

Yes, the expiry date IS in the whois output. Sometimes it gets tricky (e.g. when the name is not renewed), but most of the time it's quite plain and straight.

but i am asking is there anyway that i can just extract the expiry date out of the whois output?

The .eu whois database doesn't even show an expiry date.
But i guess when you'ld make a script that does whois lookups, you are in charge of what information will be extracted/stored, from these queries.
So yes you can extract only the expiry dates with such a script, but the expiry dates must be available in tyhe whois database.Where there is honey , there are bees.

yes i understand i have to write a script..i once got some php script..but all i can get is the whole whois output
is there any script which will only get the expiry date of the domain?

There is a free (& simple) PHP script called "Sams WHOIS" that outputs the expiry line in red. Since it identifies & parses out the expiry line you should be able to reprogram to output only the expiry data or just selected data.
