Beware of seo-host.com!!
The shittiest host EVER! , I mean EVER!! I used a lot of hosts for the last 5 years, but this is just horrible. I am hosting 22 blogs network there, they keep ruining the sites every week, one time I get error 500, next time my blog posts disappeared, today I can't login because they did something and wp-logins are not working. It take like two days for them to fix the mess they did. I am forced to always check my blogs to see, if they not ruined something again. Uptime is just horrible, I mean every day I have my sites offline for several hours.
Don't use them, if you like to save your money, and mental health!!0

I am in the process of doing that. Moving 22 wordpress blogs it's very time consuming.
Just hope that people who are considering them would read this and won't get this awful experience.0

Sorry to hear your troubles mate. If you don't mind, share who is your next host. And also you can post or report (if you want to do it privately) a domain hosted with your current host to get your review verified by mods. You can use the report button on the right hand corner of your first post to do that.

They must be overselling their servers. Move to another host, and thanks for sharing your experience.

I can understand why you're frustrated, but at what point is it acceptable to become insulting and abusive?
That's a rhetorical question - the answer is it is never acceptable. You should leave before you've gotten to the point where you're unable to interact with their support staff respectfully, and if this is your first experience with their support and you've already crossed that line, I can understand why they would be less than thrilled to reward your abuse.
I've seen this in thousands of WHT threads, where a member complains about a provider, and then we find out the member has been abusing their provider's staff. It almost never ends well for the member...0

I will explain on which point it becames that way.
When they are so greedy that the oversale their host, that way that they became unusable.
When the unprofessionalism of those "Hosters" could do a thousands dollars of damage to your sites.
Maybe for someone it's not so important , but for me it is. Sites that are being offline for 3-5 days could be easily delisted by google, i am not talking about a damage from not cutted deals with advertisers that I had last 2-3 days because the sites are ruined.
And this is a repetitive problem, I had those issues several times.0

Like I said, if you let this build up to the point where you are reacting abusively to their staff, then you stayed too long, and you cost yourself money by wasting your energy abusing their staff instead of moving into hosting environment that suited you better.
We appreciate the review (and look forward to hearing the other side of the story from SEO-Host), but take some responsibility for your own behavior!1

I hear this a lot, and find it quite amusing. Regardless of whether the host had good or terrible service, if your sites are of such importance that you stand to lose that much money, you shouldn't even be on a shared environment. It's not going to kill you to fork out the few extra dollars for a cloud VPS, or at the very least a business grade hosting plan.
The cost of hosting, would be insignifcant compared to the loss from downtimes I would think.Last edited by the_pm; 11-15-2009 at 10:11 AM.

you could move to HostGator's sistercompany http://www.seohosting.com/, although they're more expensive than seo-host.com, they do have the well known HostGator reputation.

I also have the strong opinion that abusing technical support staff is not the right kind of attitude. If they are unprofessional and incompetent jump the ship will be the correct solution rather than abusing them.

Hello there,
I am the owner of SEO-Host.com and I was pointed to this thread by one of our support technicians.
First I would like to ask the hosts that mentioned the "overselling" in this thread how they can connect that to a 500 error. I might be getting old, but a response like that to all the issues presented on the WHT shared hosting forum is plain stupid. A research on how you get to a 500 error would do very good in this situation.
Also I would like to add the part of the ticket that was missed, in which it is clearly shown that the issue already was fixed, but the client did not refresh the page or clean the browser's cache:
"I just tested them and all are working fine...
Try to clear your cache or add ? after the url to get the refreshed page from the server.

Daniel Ray

Please provide the login details to one website admin area so I can check.
Also this seems to be related to your cookies, so please delete all browsing data and also flush your DNS:
Start->Run->"cmd"->"ipconfig /flushdns"

That was the last part of the ticket which actually proves that the issue was fixed. Also the domains were not provided, so that is why Daniel asked for them.
Why he did not ask for them from the beginning is a whole thing altogether. This was a server wide problem, affecting only wordpress websites, which was generated by an issue with the /tmp partition.
Now related to the client's conduct, I would say that is totally inappropriate. We have always treated our clients with respect and we expect them to show the same respect back, as we are all human beings here.
Also the client is still with us (if you were wondering) and didn't have any reported issue since.Cheapest Multiple C Class IP Hosting0

They issue was not fixed by cleaning a cache...
Which part of that ticket proves that the issue was fixed???
It took me 2 days until, you sorted that, and NO, it was not connected in any way to cache.
The domains were provided 10 times during our conversation with him, that's why he pissed me of with this statement. It looked like he was trying to play it stupid, trying to ignore my ticket.0

Actually the client provided it only once in that ticket.
He submitted a duplicate ticket which he did not update anymore and then considered that, with no reference to the other ticket, our support technicians would magically know the domains reported to have problems.
Also please note that there were quite a few tickets at that time due reporting the same issue, which was server-wide.
Also our support technicians did not modify anything else after fixing the server-wide issue, so those 2 days were because of the cache. Actually Daniel Ray said that he only tested it from different locations in order to try locate the problem, but he was unable to, as the cache was not there.
Also please note that the client's account was migrated from that server 2 months before, but he did not update his nameservers, after requesting the migration.Cheapest Multiple C Class IP Hosting0
