PRQ.se - Server down and no reply in 5 days

    Hi

I am not really sure what to do. I have been with the company PRQ for over a year now. 5 days ago my server went down and I have not heard from them. I have sent multiple emails from different email addresses and to different email addresses but received no reply. Their website is still up but they have no information on Facebook or twitter. There is also no contact phone number.

I am wondering if anybody else is having any issues with them currently or has an idea of what I could do.

I see you tried contacting multiple email addresses -- have you tried their sales@ address? Just to make sure they're not ignoring you, try using a throwaway email address to contact sales@ and ask about a new server. If they respond, they're ignoring you. If not, they may be going under ... or simply under.

Unfortunately, a five-day downtime without response isn't good. It may be time to cut your losses and find a different host, then restore from one of your backups.

I'm with @FRH_Lisa, 5 days is waaaaay too long for a response to a server down ticket. If you've exhausted all points of contact and received no response - It's time to move on.

If they do not reply, will you wait?

You have access IPMI? Maybe you can fix the issue...

In really domain name does not prevent anything, if you can change the DNS is OK.

However, 5 days without a answer, someting happened!

As mentioned 5 day downtime with zero response to your repeated contact attempts is unacceptable.

Do you have a contact name that you can check on LinkedIn, Facebook, etc and message them?
Do you have access to your domain where you can change DNS settings?

That said, I would not wait around any longer. 5 days is long enough already. It's time to take action to make sure you can get your business back online.

Are you sure the domain is actually under their name as in the whois data states their name and not yours? If so you could have a problem. That should never have been allowed to happen.

true, as legally you should be owner of your domain name, as at the end of the day you are paying for it.

This is the downside of "offshore" hosts that don't respond to lawful notices.
Often, such hosts ignore customers too!

Let's not generalize. What you just said, does not make any sense.
What's the sense of comparing "lawful" with a client? Makes no sense!

Soldierxxxxx - do you at least have access to a domain control panel so you can go in and change the A record or nameservers?

I make generalities here because it is generally true.

It could, if the domain name was provided free with a hosting account.

That is why it is always a good idea to actually pay and own your own domain name rather than to get a 'free' domain name.

I'm wondering if you got this resolved.

If so, did they finally contact you? Did you leave them?
