Need help with basic security. Easy stuff!
Hi everybody, I've got a text-only site that I want secured as best as possible. Not like I'm expecting hacks or anything, but I just don't know if I've covered all the basic bases.
My host provider gives us cpanel x to use.
Anyways, do I have to worry about the default file permission settings in the file manager?
As for everything else:
Misdirected emails get dumped into :blackhole:
Spamassassin is enabled
Anonymous ftp is disabled
I created a subdomain ftp (ftp.mysitesname . com) and forward it to index.html. I did this because otherwise, it shows "welcome to my page" powered by apache
Directory listing is disabled
The folder cgi-bin is not password protected. Should it be?
Should I do anything else to secure this site? Thanks a lot!
